Announcement
Trains
Following the success of our train services in the second half of August and the first half of September, we had been planning to run them again during the October school half term week, as well as keeping our shop and the Russell café open.
However, with the announcement by the Welsh Government on 19th October of a two-week coronavirus ‘firebreak’ lockdown from 23rd October to 9th November, we had to close completely, except for the service of take-away food and drink from the Russell café.
We are pleased to be able to say that our shop is now open again for personal visits and for postal sales, and the service of sit-in food and drink at the Russell café has resumed with takeaway service continued. Opening times for all are 10.00 to 15.00 Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. More details can be found on the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway and Russell Café Porthmadog Facebook pages.
Regretfully, we will not be operating our Santa Specials this year, social distancing requirements making it impossible to provide a quality of experience comparable with that provided in previous years. We are therefore now concentrating on preparing for re-opening the railway and museum next year as soon as conditions sufficiently improve. We continue to wish everyone well and look forward to your continued support.
